dps on the up

Just to prove what can happen when I am paying attention and all my cooldowns are used and everything works as intended (ie i dont have to move just after using said cooldowns etc 😀

I have been checking out my Wordoflogs after most fights, and have noticed that my ingame measure (skada) is fucked up, that or maybe I am using it wrong. According to my ingame thing I am sitting on about 4k or less, yet on WOL I am on about 7/8k…so I have no idea where I am actually sitting, however my dps time is low, I have to really work on moving less, instead of having like 80/90 uptime i am on 50-60 – which is shite.

Really have to be watching the movement this week on runs that I get into, I want to show improvement, this is one trial I don’t want to fuck.

I think I am getting along with people in the guild and I am doing as I am told, I am not standing in the fire etc, so all in all I am doing ok i think. I am hoping to get into the ICC 10 man running this week, as that will give me enough badges to get a tier piece…which I can then upgrade with the marks that I have 😀

Dirty Dirty Kingslayers

Last night was raid night, second for me and first for hubby.  We went into ICC 25 man, did professor putricide on hard mode, and yep, it’s bloody hard, however we got him to approx 43% so it was almost there, we ended up just doing him in normal mode.  Hubby was doing some decent DPS for someone with apparently such bad gear, I just sucked – I could not get it happening last night. Was one of those nights that nothing I was doing was working.  I was always in the wrong spot and having to move etc, so I was basically sitting on like 5k dps most of the night, I mean it went up – I saw myself hitting 10k at one point, was just deflating.

But hey I am getting higher DPS than I ever did, so it is good.  They are an oddball bunch of people to be honest, but so far they have been nice to the newbies, vicious on vents occasionally and a bit of a laugh, all in all what I expected from a guild knocking off progression like this.

Anyway I was pushing through the pain, was not going to let that get me down, and we went and killed Arthas 😀  yup, I saw him die!!  I feel dirty however that I wasn’t with my old guild to do it.  I wish there was some way I could transplant the kill into their heads for them to understand it isn’t hard once you can see it in action…

So I am now Kingslayer!!

I think ICC is fast becoming one of my favourite instances, I enjoy a fair few of the fights in there and killing Arthas does feel very epic 🙂

That is not what I expected :)

So, to cut a long story short,  I got into a raiding guild on Caelestrasz….back to the fail server, but with a guild that has me as nervous as a school girl behind the bleachers….do they even have bleachers anymore?..more to the point do school girls even get nervous anymore ?? Especially since they are out there having babies at 10 and 11, they are barely school girls…

Anyway I digress.  So i moved my mage last night and whispered an officer, the last time I even dreamt of whisping anyone in this guild I was probably actually dreaming…

The Lich king….again

I have a feeling this is going to be a semi constant post 😀

We had an interesting night on him tongiht, we have got phase 1 down – and the transition into phase 2 working quite well, we actually even managed phase 2 better than our previous attempts. We were gettingt he first raging spirit down and the second one was just a little slow, however the third one was not dying until after the second Valk almost.

I think people are too far spread out so when defile hits too many are getting caught in it, I also am wondering if the person who gets targetted orginally just keeps running around the other side of the platform from us if that would help them avoid being in it, but i didn’t manage to cop a defile last night at all to test my theory. We were doing rhe valk with 50% success, some we managed to get other we lost, on one Valk there was a defile patch between us and her….

Too many people are getting done by blue balls 🙂 We are losing people over the edge all the time. Also a couple of attempts when the raging spirit I created turned around and one shotted me, that was pleasant. Then there was the other attempt with the raging spirit did his cone of death and killed me and another clothie, apparently standing to the side only works when the mob is still facing the side 🙂 heeh

Was funny as hell though, we lost our tank at one point and we couldnt figure out why he was so hard to keep up…yep, helps if you repair your gear so the durability is above 0%!!!!!! LOL….Someone was a little keen 😀

All in all, we had a mixed night, we did really wel on some attempts and really badly on others. We are getting the hang of it, but only raiding 2 hours doesn’t really get you the chance to push it…but I think we may have the second phase worked out very soon, just a little more control instead of insanity and we should be good 🙂

On a side note, I know it isn’t the best fight to test it, but I was hitting about 7.5k DPS, which is not huge I admit, but for someone in a mix of 10/25 man gear I reckon it isn’t too shabby 😀 I am sure if I was in a 25 man raid that would go up with the extra buffs, however I am impressed that i am doing that much DPS 😀 Considering I have put in some real effort to get my toon improved, I think it is really showing now 🙂

I am very tempted to try fire considering that is apparently giving arcane a run for its money now….and I love fire 😀 I wanna get my DPS up and will keep reading up and finding out what I can do. I

think having changing my specs slightly for the shielding bonus etc will help, I need to get into the habit of reapplying my shields though as most fights with aoe damage will give me a buff of course I have to balance that out with losing mana due to said shield!

I moved my warrior horde side 😀 Hubby has a horde fetish and wanted to run some heroics, so since I have offered my pally to the guild for xpac my warrior was doing nothing 😀

I have to get a decent picture, I didnt take any today when I did it 😀 but here is one of him getting his groove on 😀

Was very odd running around on him today, for a start – its a him!! LOL my first male toon ever I think!!

Ran a handful of heroics, wiped us twice, once due to poor management, I think my arse is now bigger than I realise and I backed into some mobs, the other time I can’t remember right now what happened, but all in all we coped and no one abused me, so that is good.

Almost got enough badges for a couple more tier 9 pieces which should boost me enough to perhaps start running UldTOC or something…..if I am lucky anyway 😀

Long time coming!

I have been working towards this for a long time, inconsistently, on some reps, but finally!!

I have 35 reputations at exalted! The one that tipped me over was Netherwing, which I was working towards for my drakes to get my 100 mount achievement, it will put me slightly closer to that, but still miles away 😀

Trying, really trying my patience

Tonight was a great run.

We went into ICC and cleared 9 bosses in one night…all one shot – except for princes, we are not sure what happened, but the hunter tank dropped before you could blink, we think it may have been a flaming ball of death!

It was a very good run, most of the gear was taken as offset for people which is a great sign we may finally be hitting the upper ends of gear in 10 man ICC.  That, and the same pieces are always dropping and therefore not actually being taken.

I equipped my wand from Blood Queen (last week, I forgot to put it on) and I also got my exalted ring, which I need to whack a gem into…might go haste I think!

We are going back in to do the Queen again and then get Sindragosa down, yes she will go down this week – if not tomorrow.

Tonight, however a serious of events set me off mentally, that by the end of the raid, I was fucking angry, so much so, I barely spoke on vents and as soon as the raid was called I jumped off vents and offline with not a word.  Had I not done this I am pretty sure when I had opened my mouth to say goodbye I would have said something very regrettable.

As it is I am likely to want to make snarky comments to the guild about a few things for the next couple of weeks and am just going to have to curb that want.

To be honest I am not entirely sure why I got so annoyed, but I think it has something to do with people not wanting to try anything out of the realms of normality.  If it hasn’t been done before, we can pretty much rest assured that like fuck anyone in my guild will want to try it.  God forbid we do something DIFFERENT – never mind that I have attempted this exact thing previously and it served its purpose nicely, in the end we never needed to actually implement it officially, due to changes in roster.

I think after re-reading that paragraph, what annoys me is that it shifts from what the guild needs or things that may make the guild improve, to what is not beneficial for the individual. 

I want nothing more than to run as frost,  but from a DPS perspective, they are pretty bad in a raiding environment,  so I stick to arcane and may even try fire as my hit is so over the top now as to pull it off.   That’s beside the point,  what I think about is the guild, and if the idea will help the guild surely some support from someone to even attempt it would be better than flat out refusal and mockery?  I am sure (let’s try and think positive hey) that my guildies were not deliberating trying to make me feel awful and like a fucking idiot for suggesting we TRY something 🙂  I am sure.

Anyway it doesn’t matter,  I told all the people having a go to just forget about it, we would just do whatever was easiest for people to deal with.  Some times you just have to shut up, smile and nod your head. 

The other things that got on my goat will have to be addressed in some form in the next couple of weeks, but for the minute I can’t be bothered even thinking about it, just gets me worked up again and I would rather not if I am going to raid tonight.

Enough of that, I am over it now….nice to vent sometimes – just get things off my chest and hence why I blog really 🙂

To give you an idea, I did all the bosses bar Thrall on 18/04/09 and I have finally done Thrall today!!

Over a year to complete the damn thing….that really can’t be right….LOL but I am guessing the achievements don’t fib.

I really wanted to get it done before Cata came out and Thrall disappeared to some unknown storyline 😀

POWA!!!!

After spending a few hundred dollars and regemming some of my gear – I am now sitting pretty on 3008 Spell damage!!!  When i self buff with Arc Int it goes up to 3018 😀  That does not include potions/food, raid buffs!!!

AM SOOOO EXCITED!!?!?!?!!?!?

Will be cool to see if it makes any difference to my raiding.  I also ditched thwe Maghari’s Staff for the Frost needle with Scourgelord’s Baton, so that bumped up my stats huge amounts.  The only problem is I am now sitting on 462 hit rating!!  So I am going to make very sure the next piece of gear I take does not have hit on it…I may just scream to be honest!!

Mine has been placed in my bank next to the bronze drake I will one day learn if I can ever afford to get epic flight training!!

Shame my mage is still waiting for the damn thing to drop for her!
